Why ‘Delulu Is the Solulu’ Actually Makes Sense (Psychologically)

Okay so let’s be real, if you have been anywhere on Insta this year, you have definitely heard it:

“Delulu is the solulu.”

Translation? Being delusional is the solution.

At first, I laughed. But then I caught myself doing it.

Like that time I walked into an exam totally unprepared and told myself I had manifest full marks. (I did not get full marks, but hey — confidence = boosted 😎)

And suddenly I was like… wait. Is there actually psychology behind this trend?

Spoiler: YES. Turns out, delulu might actually be a solulu… well sometimes.

Let me explain.

Psychologists talk about something called “positive illusions.” These are slightly exaggerated beliefs we hold about ourselves, our future, or how much control we have over life. Sounds fake? Nope. Studies show that people who have a mild level of self-delusion, like believing they’re luckier or more capable than they actually are, tend to be happier, more motivated, and more resilient.

There is also self-fulfilling prophecy, when believing something makes you act in ways that make it more likely to happen. If I believe I’ll ace my presentation, I’ll prepare better, speak with confidence, and bam, better outcome.

So yeah, delulu is not about ignoring reality. It is about shaping it with belief. Kind of like putting on mental armor made of optimism, imagination, and a touch of chaos.

My friend once said, “I acted like I was the main character until people started treating me like one.” That’s delulu energy. And it works.

But there is a fine line. When delusion detaches you completely from reality, like expecting things to magically fall into place without effort, it stops helping and starts hurting.

So here is the real solulu:

Delulu works when it inspires action.

Not when it replaces it.

Imagine your brain is a theater. Delulu is the dramatic lead, bold, fearless, kinda wild. But logic is the director. When they work together? The story gets good.

So go ahead, dream big, manifest, visualize your billionaire arc. Just remember to also study for the test, apply for that opportunity, or take the scary first step.

A little delusion + a little discipline?

That’s the real solulu.
